Introduction of Transparent Frontsheet

With the increase in the application scenarios of photovoltaic modules, the modules have an upgraded development trend of lightweight, high efficiency and double-sided power generation. Among them, the selection of transparent frontsheets and transparent backsheets directly affects the power generation efficiency, reliability and durability of lightweight modules. These requires the transparent frontsheet to have good light transmittance, hail resistance and flame retardant properties; more importantly, these properties need to be able to be maintained for a long time under outdoor conditions. The PV industry has a relatively clear requirement for backsheets. According to the standards of IEC61215 and IEC62788-2, the UV tolerance of the backsheet needs to pass the cumulative irradiation of UVA 120KWH. Domestic module companies generally require 2.5 times X IEC standard, that is, passing the cumulative irradiation of UVA 300KWH. The light received by the front of the module is nearly 10 times or more than that received by the back, which requires the UV tolerance of the transparent frontsheet to be 10 times that of the back.

As early as 2017, Fumo Tech began to develop super weathering transparent frontsheet materials and structural backsheet materials. In 2020, it was invited by a central enterprise research institute to make relevant technical reports and exchanges. Now, the super weathering transparent frontsheet launched by Fumo Tech to the market are also serialized. The main products include transparent frontsheets SPC31500, HPC315 and HGC315, supporting transparent backsheet CPC315, structural backsheet MS4700, PV special transparent edge sealing tape (OA38260-T), transparent EPE film (PV2270), composite frames and racks (PUR-8020), providing one-stop product support and services for lightweight flexible and bifacial modules. Among them, the SPC series transparent frontsheet uses super-weather-resistant transparent PVDF film as the surface layer, and its UV blocking rate is close to or exceeds 99% (200-380nm). The surface material of the HPC series is very special. Using organic-inorganic nano-hybrid technology, the coating material is designed into a semi-IPN structure, and its UV blocking group has super stability and non-migration. Third-party reliability tests have shown that such a surface layer is extremely resistant to UV radiation. The cumulative UVA radiation dose reaches 2000KWH. The frontsheet can still maintain no discoloration or powder loss, and the modules can still maintain normal power generation. The HGC series is developed based on transparent structural composite materials; the so-called transparent structural composite materials generally use high-strength, high-modulus electronic-grade glass yarn or woven cloth (E glass), which is fully infiltrated with high-performance resin and then cured to form a high-modulus cured sheet, commonly known as transparent fiberglass; these cured sheets are essential for improving the anti-hail ability of the modules after proper UV blocking protection. In addition, based on these basic material technologies, Fumo Tech also provides maintenance and value-added products and services to photovoltaic power stations, such as transparent repair tape (GT3001), easy-to-clean nano-transmittance enhancement liquid (WA7360) and ground reflective film (MS4830-D).
